Energizing the Chakras – Part II

February 20, 2008

The Throat Chakra (Second of a sequence of seven meditations)

Start the second day’s meditation by repeating the active portion of day one (forty-nine rebirthing breaths – on each inhalation, raising your eyebrows quickly and opening your eyes as wide as possible; on each exhalation, letting your eyes and eyebrows return to normal – following this with three directed breaths into the third eye, that is visualizing the inhalation going up into the third eye). Follow this with seven head rolls: drop your head forward, roll it to the left side, then back (keeping your neck long), then to the right side, then forward to complete one roll. Do seven rebirthing breaths with each head roll for a total of forty-nine breaths. Then take directed breaths into the throat chakra. Now do seven head rolls in the opposite direction with the same rebirthing breath. Again, take three directed breaths into the throat chakra. This completes the active portion of the second day’s meditation.

Now, for fifteen minutes focus on the throat chakra point. If distracting thoughts come, note them, take three directed breaths into the chakra point and return to focusing on it.

Tomorrow I’ll post a meditation to help awaken the heart chakra.
