Energizing the Chakras – Part III

The Heart Chakra (Third of a sequence of seven meditations)

Start the third day’s meditation with the active portion of day two, that is the exercises for the third eye and the throat chakras presented in the two previous postings. Now stretch your arms out to the sides, palms up, hands slightly above and in front of the line of the shoulders. Take forty-nine rebirthing breaths and with each breath, keeping your arms straight, move them so that your fingertips trace a circle about the size of a dinner plate. They should move up in back and down in front as they make the circles. When finished, bring your hands to your sides and take three directed breaths into the heart chakra point. Now take forty-nine more rebirthing breaths as you circle your arms in the reverse direction, up in front and down in back. Again, three directed breaths into the heart chakra point. This completes the active portion of the third day’s meditation.

For fifteen minutes, focus your attention on the heart chakra point. If distracting thoughts come, note them, take three directed breaths into the heart chakra point, and return to focusing your attention. there.

Tomorrow I’ll post a meditation to help awaken the power chakra.
