Self Healing – Figure-eight Grounding

September 8, 2008

In figure-eight grounding we draw healing energy from both earth and sky. It is a good practice to use at the start and end of any healing session..

Start standing or sitting. Breathe in. As you exhale visualize a line of energy going from your heart out and down to the center of the earth. As you inhale, visualize that energy coming up through the back of your heart, making the lower loop of a figure eight. Then, as you exhale, visualize a line of energy going from your heart out and up to the center of the Universe; and then, as you inhale visualize that loop coming down and in through the back of your heart, making the upper loop.  Practice making several more figure eights.

Now, as you exhale for the lower loop silently say, “I am one with the Earth,” and as you exhale for the upper loop, “I am one with God,” or “I am one with the Universe,” “I am one with the Great Mother,” whatever words are meanignful to you.

It is possible to use one exhalation and inhalation for the whole figure eight, exhaling on the lower loop and inhaling on the upper.

The benefit from figure-eight grounding depends on the intention you set. If you want to heal some area of your body or life, set that intention as you start the grounding. If you have a problem in a specific part of your body, start the figure eight with the crossing point in your heart, then move that point to the area of your body that needs healing energy. If, for example, you have a sore wrist, move the crossing point of the figure eight to that wrist. Your Higher Self will tell you how long to continue the healing.
